I was born and brought up in New Barnet, Hertfordshire and educated at Highgate School, North London. Whilst at school I enjoyed Playing Cricket, Hockey and Rifle Shooting.
After briefly considering a career in dentistry I opted to follow my father into Podiatry. My undergraduate education was at Plymouth School of Podiatric Medicine.
Qualifying in 1985 I soon undertook fellowship modules in the diabetic foot and rheumatoid foot. In 1987 I began my membership exams for the faculty of podiatric surgery. My surgical training was carried out in several centres including Northampton General, The Royal London Hospital, and finally Bridge Hospital in Witham, Essex.
On completion of my Fellowship into the Surgical Faculty of The College of Podiatrists in 1999 , I continued to work for Maldon and South Chelmsford Trust. I became a Specialist in Podiatric Surgery
after three years gaining a Certificate of Completion in Surgical Training .
Subsequently I gained a Masters of Science degree in Podiatric Surgery at the University of Huddersfield.
After 5 years I was appointed, after panel interview in 2004, as a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon. I continue
to work in two NHS trusts in Essex as well as in private hospitals Northwest and Central London.
I have undertaken over 9000 foot and ankle procedures since 1987.
Currently I am a Surgical Tutor and Final Examiner for the Faculty of Surgery and regularly act a a Primary
Peer Reviewer for other consultant led services. I was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society Of Medicine.
I served as a a Faculty Board member for Podiatric Surgery Faculty of the College of Podiatry 2011-2017.
In 2014 I was re-elected for a second term as Vice Dean.
In 2013 qualified as a supplementary prescriber in readiness for independent prescribing latter that year.
I was very proud to be the first Podiatric Surgeon in the UK to gain independent prescribing rights.
Currently I undertake Choose and Book surgery at the BMI Garden Hospital, BMI Cavell Hospital and BMI Kings Oak in North London . All surgery is available with a full choice of anaesthetic. GA and Sedation administered by a Consultant Anaethetist. In 2019 I was elected a Fellow in the Faculty of Podiatric Medicine at The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow.
2024 Became Clinical Director for Podiatric surgeryt in EPUT.
A proud moment in my career was to be asked to be a part of the Podiatric team
at the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic rowing at Eton Dorny. London 2012.
When time allows me to get out of my work environment, I still play
cricket, enjoy clay pigeon shooting, skiing and scuba diving. I have been actively
involved in motorsport. When not at work, I try to improve my guitar playing.
In my local community I am active in Rotary International and have been awarded
a Paul Harris Fellowship and hold Metropolitan SLGR.
In 1993 I was honoured with the Freedom of the City Of London.
2020 saw my membership of the MCC come finally arrive.
